In June, Johnathan Wesley Design partnered with Proud of Wichita to create a VIP Lounge in the incubator space at The Workroom in the historic Eaton Hotel. The inspiration for the design was moody New Orleans cocktail lounge meets art installation. We transformed the space with luxe wallcoverings, traditional print rugs, plush ottomans, and gorgeous marble side tables. This blend of modern and traditional elements is a style we like to call “Moditional” – more on that later. The mood lighting was provided by rechargeable amber lamps and modern brass wall fixtures. We worked with a local photographer to create the photo installation titled “Authenticity”, with the goal of inspiring conversation about the challenges that face the LGBTQIA+ community in their journey to living authentically.
The lounge served as a VIP champagne room during Pride in the Park After Dark for one night only and then was open for the Final Friday Art Crawl the following week. All items in the lounge are available for sale, artwork included. Please contact us for details!
